Big Name Companies Collaborate To Create The Metaverse

Major tech companies like Microsoft, Lenovo, and Meta are already collaborating on the protocols that define the Metaverse. So far, one thing we can be sure of is that the Metaverse will evolve into a three-dimensional, immersive version of the Internet. Of this, we can be sure. However, the question no one can answer right now is, what will that look like? As it currently stands, there is no single browser or platform that captures the Metaverse experience. Over time, the Metaverse will likely evolve and transform into becoming a landscape worth up to $5 trillion in 2030.

The software consortium Kronos Group hosted what’s known as the Metaverse Standards Forum to help flush out and coordinate a common set of protocols to be used in constructing the Metaverse. Big names like Adobe, IKEA, Qualcomm, Alibaba, and Wayfair were some of the key players involved in the recent Metaverse Standards Forum. What this means for Friends of the Metaverse is that one, unified Metaverse containing millions of destinations is quickly approaching.

Other big-name companies like Unity Technologies and RendezVerse are all creating digital twins of real-life locations inside the Metaverse. This is big news for startups all around the world.

Previously, individuals thought entering the Metaverse would take place only through virtual reality or augmented reality headsets. However, as companies begin to build the Metaverse, it is more likely that individuals looking to access it will be able to do so using their smartphones, PCs, tablets, and other digital devices.

This is promising progress that helps standardize Metaverse experiences for users around the world. Joining the Friends of the Metaverse community now will help you become an early adopter and insider with first access to developments in the Metaverse. Join the community or get left behind.
